After two long days of scrutineering, the team finally got a chance to sleep in before heading back to the pits for a different kind of work. While the solar car was officially race-ready, the trailer that carried it all the way to Texas also needed some attention. The team spent the morning making sure it was roadworthy for the journey and then turning there attention to the car, lubricating moving parts, and completing a few final maintenance tasks on the car. Those last-minute jobs kept everyone busy through lunch until about 3 p.m. After some downtime back at the house, the team gathered with the races from across the country for dinner before heading out for a memorable evening of team bonding that included trying their hand at bull riding. With plenty of laughs and one last chance to unwind, everyone turned in early, ready for the moment they had been working toward all year—the first day of racing.
