Solar Storms Solar Car Team

Registration Day brought both excitement and unexpected challenges for the Solar Storms team. After completing registration and the initial judging, the team discovered there was much more electrical work needed before the car would be race ready. During the trip down to Texas, a brake fluid leak had also developed, so the team spent the rest of the day getting the car back into driving condition after the long journey. While the mechanical team worked tirelessly on the breaks and other critical components, the electrical team stayed up and worked late into the night, studying schematics, tracing wiring, and gaining a deeper understanding of the car’s electrical system. It was a long day filled with problem-solving, teamwork and determination.
